Mentalia Campus are currently supporting a Higher Education client in the North
West with the appointment of a permanent Counsellor to join their Student Wellbeing
service from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and student-focused
environment, providing high-quality therapeutic support to students experiencing a
wide range of emotional, psychological and mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the wider wellbeing team,
supporting students through short-term interventions, risk management, signposting
and collaborative multidisciplinary working to help students engage positively with

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver confidential one-to-one counselling sessions to students
  • Undertake assessments and risk evaluations where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and professional clinical records
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Student Wellbeing team
  • Support students presenting with a broad range of mental health and emotional wellbeing needs
  • Provide appropriate referrals and signposting to external services where required

Requirements

  • Qualification in Counselling, Psychotherapy or related field
  • Membership/accreditation with a recognised professional body (BACP, UKCP or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with young adults, students or within education settings desirable
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
