🏫 Specialist Education Setting
Mentalia Campus are currently supporting a Specialist Education setting in Essex
with the appointment of a Locum Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary
team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with experience
supporting children and young people with additional needs within education
settings. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral
teams and wider therapy professionals to support students in achieving positive
educational, emotional and functional outcomes.
The role will involve supporting students with a range of needs including Autism,
ADHD, SEMH, sensory processing difficulties and associated communication or
developmental challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions within a specialist school setting
- Support students with sensory, emotional and functional needs impacting learning and daily engagement
- Develop individualised therapy plans and recommendations
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Provide practical strategies and guidance to educational staff
- Maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation
Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working within Specialist Education, Paediatrics, ASD, SEMH or SEN settings desirable
- Strong understanding of sensory integration and student-centred interventions
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- Enhanced DBS required
