Rehabilitation can mean rebuilding confidence, adapting to changed abilities or finding a way back to everyday life. Psychology plays a central role in helping people make that progress.
Mentalia Locums is seeking an HCPC-registered Psychologist for a part-time assignment within a specialist neurological rehabilitation service in Northamptonshire.
About the service
The service supports adults with acquired or traumatic brain injuries and other neurological conditions. Individuals may experience changes in cognition, emotional wellbeing and behaviour, alongside complex physical or mental health needs.
The multidisciplinary team works with individuals and their families to support rehabilitation, increase independence and improve quality of life.
The opportunity
You will bring a psychological perspective to rehabilitation, helping the team understand each person’s needs and translate that understanding into practical support.
The role is suited to a psychologist with experience in neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury or a closely related clinical setting. Areas of work may include:
- Psychological assessment and formulation.
- Individual interventions addressing adjustment, distress and emotional wellbeing.
- Supporting staff to understand and respond to behaviours associated with neurological conditions.
- Contributing to rehabilitation goals and multidisciplinary care planning.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers and the wider clinical team.
The precise responsibilities and caseload will be discussed before submission.
About you
You will hold current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist and bring relevant clinical experience, sound judgement and a collaborative approach. Experience of neurobehavioural approaches and supporting people with complex needs would be particularly valuable.
